Forum Changes and Credits Scheme

I have just updated quite a few things on the forum and removed several other things.
The most noticeable change will of course be the style changes. The style is a lot more flat and basic with a more simplistic color scheme.

In addition to the new style, several new modifications have been added.

The most interesting addon, is the Credits system. From now on users will be awarded for participating in the Invision Gaming community. The awards are points/credits which in small numbers are just kudos, but once a user hits large number of credits, they will be able to transfer them for rewards and packages.

So how do I get Credits?

The credits are gained when a user does certain things, here is an explaination of the type of actions a user can do to gain credits and how many are awarded for each.

* Create a new thread - 2 Credits
* Post in any thread - 1 Credit (The first post every 24 hours gives 2 credits)
* Receive Positive Reputation - 1 Credit
* Receive Negative Reputation - Minus 1 Credit (Loss)
* Post Deletion - Minus 2 Credits (Net loss of 1 Credit)

So if a person logs in and makes a post in an thread for the first time in 24 hours, he wil receive 2 credits (instead of the usual one as a bonus), then 1 credit for every post after the first until the next 24 hours has past.
If his post was very useful to people and they gave him positive reputation, he will gain extra credits.

You can view your credit score at the top of the navigation bar and you can check the top 10 users on the Credits page.

The prizes haven't yet been decided but will be announced in about a week. They will include free packages. Webhosting, Voice servers, Game Servers and Dedicated Servers for those with extreme points.

The scaling of credits required for each has not yet been decided. It is likely a person will need around 900 Posts to get a free game server. More details coming shortly.

Lots of new forums have been added and hopefully you will find some that you can join in with the active discussion in them.

Because there is an insentive for people to start spamming now, it is likely that anyone who aimlessly posts for no reason or benefit to the thread will have their posts deleted. Having a post deleted means that you lose 2 credits, but users who have repeated deletions will have more serious deductions.

Once another mod is finished it will work as an actual shopping center were users will be able to use their credits to directly purchase things from the shop, but for now just start racking up the credits.



Notice: Do not confuse Forum Credits with Invision Credits on the main site. They are different. Invision Credits are worth 1=1GBP, yet Forum Credits have no value.

It is very likely that this post will soon be deleted, however i would like to say that none of the invision-gaming customers have posted 900 times, and are likely to now try for it, but will never reach 900.

Maybe lower it?

Why would I delete your post? You appear to think anyone with an opinion had their post deleted.

If you look at the prices in the third post you can see that its not 900. You can get it from a lot less. In addition you can transfer credits from one person to another, so if you had 5 people posting on here and they transfered the credits to one another you could get a server pretty quickly.

(There is a 60% tax in transfering credits though just to prevent mass hording)
