Bots on Servers

At Invision-Gaming we do not allow bots on servers without express written permission from an Invision Gaming staff. A lot of people may think that this is unfair and that you have paid for your server, so why cant you use it the way that you want? Well, the plain and simple answer for this, is that we operate our servers in such a way that it puts emphasis on fair use and optimising performance on the servers.

Disallowing bots on game servers is actually not purely just a bad thing and there are benefits to each user. At the time of purchasing your server you would have already received a huge benefit from this rule. Its not the same with every game, but with the majority of game servers, bots use a enormous amount of CPU time and this requirement is continuous, it does not stop when the players leave the server, the bots continue to play and drain the resources that other game servers on the box would use. Because of this, it would mean that we would have to charge more per game server due to not being able to provide cheap and high performing game servers. Essentially, this condition allows us to ensure quality of network, but at the same time, have control over those servers which do manage their bots effectively to not waste resources. Having no bots on a server, means cheaper prices and higher performing servers, isn't that what everyone wants?
