Game Server Control Panel

TCAdmin

The game server control panel that we use is TCAdmin. The image on the left shows the possible features for a Counter Strike Source game server.

The icons on the game server cp desktop show:

• Config Management
• File Manager
• Command Line Management
• Server Administration
• Game Update
• Run Steam Update
  
• Install Mods / Addons
• Mani Admin Manager (If mani is installed)
• Game Server Activity
  

Config Management in TCAdmin

The configuration management allows you to select from a list of predefined or set config files. For example with Counter Strike source the selection is populated with 4 configs, mapcycle.txt, maplist.txt, server.cfg, motd.txt and if you wanted you could addautoexec.cfg.

From the panel you can select the configuration you want to edit and then from the web administration panel you can change any of the configs remotely. This completely cuts out the need for you to alter the files locally and upload the files through FTP.

File Manager

The file maneger is quite simply a web interface that offers you the functionality that would be available with any basic FTP application. You can upload files (up to a maximum size of 2mb), change file names, delete files and navigate through the file system of your user area.

Command Line Management

Many clans require direct access to the command line of their server to alter it in some way to set up either a mod or to change the default starter map. With our control panel you receive the ability to alter the game server command line in such a way that means you can interface directly with the way your server runs. If you want to set up a mod or addon you often need access to the command line. However, in TCAdmin some commands are restricted for security and protection reasons. You will be unable to change the command line in such a way to alter your player slots or run the server at a different tickrate.

Server Administration with TCAdmin

From the TCAdmin game server administration page you can easily interface with your game server to see who is currently online, how many people are on and what their stats may be. For games that accept it, you will be able to run RCON commands directly from the game server control panel and also see any output.

Game Update / Run Steam Update (hldsupdatetool.exe)

The game update page allows you to install any updates that we have made available for your game type. Certain games receive regularly updates and patches. Counter Strike Source for example will probably have around 10 large updates a year. From this page you can apply any of the patches we have compiled for your game. However, when they have not been created, you can run the hldsupdatetool directly for your server from the control panel. This will then update your server immediately and ensure its running the latest game files.

Install Mods

From the install mods page you can, much like the Game Updates page, install any files that we have made available for your server from the web panel. For example this may include, PAM mod, mattie event script, mani admin, AMX Mod. Alternateively if the mod or addon you want is not available you can still install it manually on your server.

Mani Admin Manager with TCAdmin

Many users with little experience with game mods or server administration find it difficult to administrate mani admin and add new users to the admin list. With the mani admin manager you can very quickly add a new user to your admin list and allow users to have access to the mani admin on your server. This functionality in TCAdmin completely takes away the need for you to learn the clients.txt system or the adminlist.txt files that are conventionally used to add a new user to the admin.

Game Server Activity

The final main module of TCAdmin for the game server management if the Game Server Activity page. From this module you can view your server's recent activity. The data is broken down into a very simple graph that displays the range of people connected to your server over the date you specify. It shows you how many people have been conencted and at what time they were on your server.

In addition to the above features, each game server has the ability to stop, start or restart the service. This allows you to stop your server at any time and perform any maintenance on your server, ensuring that no one will be able to connect while you are cofiguring it. Then once you are ready you can start your server.
