Dragonball Source Download / Installation

Installing Dragonball Source is actually very simple and is done in exactly the same way as every other half life 2 modification. The following instructions assumes that you have basic skills requires in navigating through Windows Explorer and understands the basics with Steam game browser.

To begin with you should download the game modification files for Dragonball Source. You can download dragonball source from lots of different sources. Pick one of the mirrors below. Due to high demand the official Dragonball Source site has been unreachable since the date of release although should be back up and working shortly. Because of the problems they have set up a redirect to the MODDB site which includes the game files.

Step 1 - Installation Dragonball Source

Close down and exit from steam. This just makes it easier to work with steam and has to be restarted at one stage anyway.

Step 2

Extract the files from the Dragonball Source .zip that you have downloaded to your desktop.

Step 3

If you look inside you should have a DBSource folder and inside of this will be lots of directories and files such as that commonly found in other Halflife 2 mods; scripts,downloads,maps,cfg,cache,resource,bin etc and etc.

Step 4

In Windows Explorer navigate to your Steam folder usually found in C:Program Files and you will see the Steam folder. Inside of this you need to navigate to your steamapps folder.

Your steamapps folder is the folder that steam uses to check to see what games you have installed on your system and stores all your games here. You will also notice that you may have a SourceMods folder. If you do not, you should create it now and then move to:

C:Program FilesSteamsteamappsSourceMods

Step 6

Copy your DBSource folder from the zip that you extracted directly into this folder. Thats then completed the core file installations. You will have to repeat this process for any patches or updates. Just skip back to Step 2 and start again for any patches.

Step 7

Start up Steam and you will see Dragonball Source in your game browser window (Providing you have a copy of the Source game engine installed on your system, which comes with any Half Life 2 game that you can purchase from Steam.
