Overview
Steambans is a game server tool that helps maintain the security of game play where VAC2 fails. The inbuilt security offered by the Valve Anti Cheat does help to keep people off of your server where they have been found to use hack or tools to cheat on your server, but for those gamers who manage to get past the filters of VAC and continue to cheat, what can you do?
With a licence and a fast installation of the SteamBans plugin on your server it can help to keep over 25000 STEAM_IDs that have been reported cheaters off your server. Steam Bans protects over 5000 game servers.
The Steam Bans addon is recommended if you want to protect your server to its full potential. The Steam Bans team manually flags any STEAM ID that has been reviewed and decided to be cheating as a 'hacker'. These STEAM IDs are stored on a main ban database and any protected server automatically kicks and bans a player connecting to a protected server with the specific STEAM ID.
