Casey's Config

This is Casey's Config. It is useful for getting the most out of your game ensuring that you have high FPS by lowering lots of game settings. You will lose graphics quality but the game will become a lot smother.

If you want to use this config you should create a config called autoexec.cfg and add it to your /cfg folder found at:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\steamusername\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg

Steam Bans

Overview

Steambans is a game server tool that helps maintain the security of game play where VAC2 fails. The inbuilt security offered by the Valve Anti Cheat does help to keep people off of your server where they have been found to use hack or tools to cheat on your server, but for those gamers who manage to get past the filters of VAC and continue to cheat, what can you do?

With a licence and a fast installation of the SteamBans plugin on your server it can help to keep over 25000 STEAM_IDs that have been reported cheaters off your server. Steam Bans protects over 5000 game servers.

Sv_downloadurl Guide

Sv_download Guide

How To use Sv_downloadurl

There are lots of reasons why every and any server that has the ability to use sv_downloadurl features should. Adding the ability for players to use sv_downloadurl will dramatically decrease the server loading time for players connecting. In addition to this players connecting to the server do not take up a server slot while downloading the files from the redirect server.

How it works

Game servers such as half life 2 mods, including Counter Strike Souce have a server variables called sv_downloadurl that is used to show the location of the mirror of the game files.

All of the files that are on the game server that a player would normally download from it when connecting need to be mirrored somewhere from a web accessible location. When anyone then connects to the server instead of downloading the maps or server files from the actual game server the game client retrieves the files from the mirror address.

Adding CSS Maps To Server

Adding CSS Maps to Server Posted By Kalyse // Counter Strike Source

Adding Maps to your Server

Contra MapNot everyone wants to play the default map on their server. Some servers run fun maps such as the ag_texture series or the all time classical scout_knivez. Adding these maps on your server and allowing people to play them is not actually as difficult as it may appear. With any FTP client you can very quickly and easily upload the map of your choice to your game server and start playing.

This quick guide works for any game server not just those hosted by Invision-Gaming.

I will assume you already have the map that you want to install on your server. If you do not you can easily find many maps by using Google and searching for "CSS Maps" or "Counter Strike Source Files". FPSBanana is one of the most popular resources for sharing and download server files such as skins, textures and maps.

RCON Commands

RCON, or Remote Console, is a way of allowing an administrator to interface directly to their server and send commands straight to the command line that drives the game server. RCON is used by many games and not just counter strike source although the commands that each will accept are different from game to game.

To first send the commands you need to log in which is achieved by

rcon_password "mypassword"

You can then type any of the commands below
